The Job Shadowing Program provide students and individuals considering a career in healthcare an up-close look at the professions that make up the field.
Eligibility
- High school students ages 16 or older
- Undergraduate college students
- Individuals exploring a new career
This program is not intended for individuals interested in shadowing a physician or advanced practice provider (APP); please contact Medical Staff Affairs (304-598-4156) for assistance with these requests.
How to Apply
- Please read the following document carefully:
- Print, complete, and send the following forms to shadowing@wvumedicine.org:

- Applicable Health Information Form (it is the applicant’s responsibility to obtain all immunizations)
- Authorization/Release of Liability Form
- Confidentiality and Security Agreement
- Job Shadowing Program Acknowledgment Form (a parent or guardian notarized signature is required for all participants under age 18)
Application
Fill out an online application.
Once you have completed and submitted the application and required forms, a department representative will contact you to arrange your shadowing experience.
