We are open to any majors, but applicants must be IT proficient.

What qualities are you looking for in an internship candidate?
We are looking for the “best of the best” in our interns and seek leaders and innovators. If you thrive working with a team and independently and go above and beyond what is expected, we encourage you to apply for the WVU Medicine IT Internship.

What’s involved in the hiring process?
Applicants participate in a series of phone interviews, additional 30-minute interviews, and meet with several members of the leadership team. Pre-employment screening, including a background check and physical, is also required.

When do interviews take place?
Interviews occur in November and December.

Will I actually do real IT work?
Yes, you will work with members of your team to complete projects with them and independently. You will work on applications that are used in the real world.

What are some of the day-to-day activities that I will be doing?
Daily internship activities depend on the team that you are assigned to, and projects vary from year to year.

How many hours a week will I work?
You work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday.

Do you need your own transportation?
No, there is university transportation and public transportation through Mountain Line Transit Authority.
