Medical Laboratory Services (MLS) offers a variety of reporting options for clients:

  • Fax
  • Lifepoint (an order entry, result retrieval computer system offered to MLS clients)
  • MyWVUChart

MLS offers same-day turnaround for many procedures with most routine testing reported within 24 hours of specimen receipt in the laboratory.

Tissue pathology and cytopathology results typically are reported within 48-72 hours of specimen receipt in the anatomic pathology laboratory. Test results may be available by telephone prior to delivery of reports electronically or as hard copy. STAT test results and critically abnormal test results are automatically telephoned to the referring physician’s office or answering service.

MLS test reports provide appropriate reference ranges for each test performed, and abnormal test results are flagged for immediate recognition.
