Pulmonary Rehabilitation is a special program for people with chronic lung disease and related symptoms such as shortness of breath. It can improve a person’s general well-being, and help with endurance, trouble breathing, and mood. It has also been found to reduce hospitalizations in persons with COPD and improve survival following a severe flare-up of the disease. Patients referred to Pulmonary Rehab have some of the following conditions:
- Bronchiectasis
- Chronic Bronchitis
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
- Confirmed or suspected COVID-19 and experience persistent symptoms that include respiratory dysfunction for at least four weeks
- Emphysema
- Interstitial Lung Disease
- Lung cancer and lung cancer surgery
- Lung volume reduction surgery, and before and after lung transplantation
- Persistent asthma
- Pulmonary Fibrosis
- Pulmonary Hypertension
- Sarcoidosis
Pulmonary Rehab is Tuesdays and Thursdays in the afternoon, and a physician referral is required. For more information, please call 304-473-2096.
