The Outpatient Infusion Center at WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon treats patients who need infusions including, but not limited to:

  • Intravenous medications
  • Blood transfusions
  • Biotherapy drugs
  • and Long-course IV Antibiotic Therapy

The center also provides care and maintenance of central venous access devices, like implanted infusion ports and PICC lines. The Infusion Center is staffed by Registered Nurses who are specially trained in managing intravenous infusions.

Located on the first floor of the hospital, the center is open Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pm by appointments only. Appointments are scheduled to allow for the length of time needed to administer the medication or blood.

The Outpatient Infusion Center works closely with a patient’s referring provider, as well as the patient’s family and caregivers. Our team collaborates with other hospital departments including laboratory, radiology and dietary to provide the best treatment course for each patient.
