Neuro-Oncology Clinic
The WVU Medicine Golisano Children’s Neuro-Oncology program specializes in the diagnosis and treatments of cancers in the nervous system, like the brain and spinal cord.
Patients have access to multidisciplinary team of doctors who specialize in Oncology, Neurosurgery, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and Neuropsychology and Behavioral Medicine.
The Neuro-Oncolgy Clinic allows children with a history of brain or spinal tumors to see all of their providers in one day and receive any necessary testing, eliminating the need for multiple trips to the hospital.
We treat patients with a range of brain or spinal tumors including:
- Astrocytoma
- Ependymoma
- Germ cell tumor
- Glioblastoma
- Medulloblastoma
- Miscellaneous brain tumors
- Neurofibromatosis
- Pontine glioma
- Rhabdoid tumors
Neurofibromatosis (NF1) Clinic
The WVU Medicine Golisano Children’s Neurofibromatosis 1 Clinic specializes in the diagnosis of NF1.
This genetic condition diagnosed in childhood causes tumors to form on the nerve tissue, affecting the skin, bones, and nervous system.
Patients have access to a multidisciplinary team of doctors who specialize in Oncology, Behavioral Psychology, Complex Care, Dermatology, Opthalmology, Genetics and Neorology
The NF1 Clinic allows children to see all their providers in one day and receive any necessary testing, eliminating the need for multiple trips to the hospital.
We treat patients with a variety of NF1 signs and symptoms including:
- Tumors
- Cafe-au-lait spots
- Freckles in the armpits/groin
- Lisch nodules (iris bumps)
- Neurofibromas (skin tumors)
- Learning difficulties
- Scoliosis or other bone abnormalities
- Vision problems
