About Specialty Telemedicine Clinics
Patients and families often face barriers to receiving specialty care, including distance, reliable transportation, cost of travel, childcare, and having to take time off work. We work diligently to coordinate care so the most necessary testing and imaging can be performed locally. Our goal is to bring you the specialist care you need while keeping you close to home.
Your telemedicine visit is designed to feel just like an in-person appointment, only without having to travel to Morgantown.
What to expect
- When you arrive, you’ll check in and be taken to an exam room.
- An APP (Advanced Practice Provider) will check your blood pressure and weight.
- The APP will ask about your health, any concerns, and your medications.
- During your virtual visit, your doctor will appear on a large screen via a secure video call. Your APP will help set up the connection so you don’t have to worry about technical issues.
- You and your doctor can see and hear each other just like an in-person visit. Your doctor may ask the APP to use tools that send real-time information, such as a Bluetooth stethoscope, so they can get the details they need to care for you.
- At the end of your visit, you’ll receive clear instructions and next steps. This could include prescription updates, lab orders, or guidance for follow-up care.
