E-Visits connect you to a WVU Medicine provider via a text-based online chat. Upload images and documents, and receive treatment in a cost-effective format without ever leaving your home. If you are an existing WVU Medicine patient, you can see your WVU Medicine provider without leaving home.

Many WVU Medicine providers now offer established patients convenient outpatient video visits by simply using a smartphone or a computer with a webcam.

Schedule an Outpatient Video Visit

You can schedule an outpatient video visit by contacting your WVU Medicine provider directly, or by scheduling through MyChart.

 

Tips for Scheduling Through MyChart

  1. From the dashboard, select Schedule an Appointment.
  2. On the left side of the screen, under the title, “Schedule a Return Patient Visit”, select the provider you’d like to schedule with.
  3. Under the “Reason for Visit” section, select Sick/Not Feeling Well.
  4. Proceed through the questionnaire until you reach the question “How would you like to be seen?” then select Video Visit.
  5. Complete the questionnaire, then choose a time slot for your video visit.

Prepare for Your Visit

  • Join your visit from a quiet, well-lit location.
  • Consider wearing headphones for best sound quality and privacy.
  • Use a Wi-Fi connection whenever possible.
  • From the MyChart dashboard, select Visits, then select your scheduled appointment to join.

During Your Visit

  • If you get disconnected during your visit, you can rejoin by clicking the link again.
