Job Shadowing Program
The Job Shadowing Program provides students and individuals considering a career in healthcare an up-close look at the professions that make up the field.
The program is open to:
- High school students ages 16 or older
- Undergraduate college students
- Individuals exploring a new career
This program is not intended for individuals interested in shadowing a physician, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant. In order to shadow a physician, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant, please call 304-598-4000 and ask to be connected to the administrative office of their department/specialty.
How to Apply
Here are the steps to follow if interested in participating in the Job Shadowing Program:
- Read the Job Shadow Program Overview carefully.
- Print, complete, and send the following forms to [email protected]:
- Applicable Health Information Form (it is applicant’s responsibility to obtain all immunizations)
- Authorization/Release of Liability Form
- Confidentiality and Security Agreement
- Job Shadowing Program Acknowledgment Form (parent’s or guardian’s notarized signature required for participants under age 18)
- Fill out an online application.
Once you have completed and submitted the application and required forms, a department representative will contact you to arrange your shadowing experience.
