Financial Aid

Center for Nursing Education Financial Aid

Financial aid ensures that students entering the Center for Nursing Education (CNE) have access to the resources they need to pursue their education. It helps offset the full range of costs associated with nursing programs—covering essentials such as tuition, fees, books, supplies, and living expenses. This support makes training for a nursing career more attainable for students and their families.

WVU Hospitals (WVUH) is approved by the United States Department of Education to participate in federal student financial assistance programs, including the Pell Grant and Direct Loan programs. WVUH’s school code is 012573. The CNE is eligible to participate in the Federal Student Aid for the Registered Nursing program.

Veterans Benefits and the GI Bill

WVUH is approved by the Veterans Administration (VA) to participate in the GI Bill programs for eligible veterans. WVUH’s VA facility code is 32-X822-48. Eligible veterans should contact the financial aid administrator as soon as possible after being accepted into one of our programs for more information regarding their VA benefits. The Registered Nurse programs at the CNE are eligible for GI Bill benefits.

Private Loans

WVUH does not endorse or recommend any particular private lender, and not all private lenders will offer loans to students enrolled in our programs. However, enrolled students may be able to obtain private student loans, pending eligibility. This funding option may be available for students who require additional financial aid in excess of the funds available through the Pell Grant and Direct Loan programs, or for students who are enrolled in programs that do not qualify for federal financial aid. Students exploring private loan options should first review the Private Lender Disclosure form, then contact their program director for additional information.
