What to Bring

When you are to be admitted to Wheeling Hospital, the following are some personal items you should bring with you:

  • Personal toiletries such as toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, etc.
  • Reading materials, phone charger, bath robe, etc.
  • List of current medications and supplements, including dose and frequency
  • A copy of your advanced directives, if you have one

Parking

The primary parking lot is located directly in front of the hospital. This lot is ideal for patients visiting the main building, Tower 4, Tower 5, or the Emergency Department. Additional parking lots are available behind the hospital with access to Towers 1, 2, and 3.

Clear directional signs are posted along the hospital parameter, and valet parking is available at the Tower 4 entrance.

Checking In

Checking in for services at Wheeling Hospital is a quick and simple process. Depending on what you are visiting the hospital for, you can complete your check in process at the following locations:
• Non-surgical outpatient services like lab, xray, mri, etc…
o Please check in with the registration desks inside the main entrance of Tower 4
• Emergency Department
o The ED entrance is located on the 8th Street side of the building
• Clinical Visits
o Check in for clinical visits will be done at your specific physician’s office For additional information on finding check in locations, offices, or navigating the campus, please call our Connected Care Line at 833-HELP-WHG (833-435-7944)

Transportation

Wheeling Hospital is proud to offer our Connected Care Line. Should you need assistance arranging transportation, navigating the campus, or coordinating further care, please call our Connected Care Line. Monday – Friday: 8 am – 4:30 pm 833-HELP-WHG (833-435-7944)

Our Policies

Wheeling Hospital is a smoke-free campus. Smoking is prohibited both indoors and outdoors, including all clinic buildings and surrounding areas (sidewalks and parking lots). WVU Medicine has a Zero-Tolerance policy when it comes to aggressive behavior, including physical assault, verbal assault (including aggressive and sexual language), threats, and/or failure to comply with instructions. Administration will support staff by maintaining a safe environment for patient care. Incidents may result in search of belongings, removal from facility, and prosecution.
