Visitation Guidelines

Visiting Hours
WVU Medicine Weirton Medical Center welcomes visitors, family and close friends. They can play an important part in the recovery and healing process of patients by providing a touch of home, encouragement, and support. Please let us know your preferences regarding visitors.

Levels 5, 6, 7, & 8:
7am – 7pm

CCU: 7am – 7pm
Limit-two visitors at a time

Inpatient Rehabilitation:
3pm – 7pm

Pediatrics: 7am – 7pm
One parent permitted overnight

Gynecology/MedSurg:
7am – 7pm (No overnight guests)

  • Obstetrics/Level 4
    Triage patient – One support person until patient is either admitted or discharged.
  • Labor patient – same two support people during labor, delivery, and two-hour recovery period. (The support people can come and go during this period). No children are allowed during labor.
  • C-Section patient – one support person during pre-op, surgery, and 2 hour post-op recovery. No children allowed during this time.
  • Postpartum visitation – 7 am – noon and 3 pm – 7 pm.
  • One overnight support person permitted. Two visitors at a time

 

Patient visits may be restricted for various reasons, which may include:

  • Patient choice.
  • During times when procedures or assessments are being done.
  • During private talks between healthcare providers and the patient, if the patient does not want visitors to be present.
  • When emergency procedures are being done on the patient or nearby patient.
  • When a visitor’s behavior is disruptive or presents a risk to patients or hospital staff.
  • When privacy is needed for the other patient in a shared room.
  • When there is a court order limiting contact with the patient.
