The WVU Heart and Vascular Institute’s Structural Heart Disease Program is a multidisciplinary team that specializes in diseases of the heart valves, walls, and chambers. We use the latest percutaneous catheter-based techniques to treat all forms of structural defects, including aortic and mitral valve diseases, adult congenital defects, tricuspid valve regurgitation, as well as paravalvular leaks.

The most common types of structural heart disease are:

Intracardiac shunt (atrial septal defect and ventricular septal defect)
Extracardiac shunt (Aortoatrial, aortopulmonary, etc)
