Training at Every Level
for the Future of Healthcare
At WVU Medicine, education and community are at the heart of our mission to improve the health and well-being of West Virginians and beyond, and we can prove it.
Residencies, Internships, and Fellowships
WVU Medicine wants all employees, whether clinical, clerical, service, or administrative, to grow professionally and personally. Any investment in our employees is an investment in the future of the organization. This is why WVU Medicine offers ongoing education and training opportunities.
MedEd: A High School Career Path to Success
Interested in starting a career in the healthcare industry immediately upon graduating from high school? The WVU Medicine MedEd program provides high school students with skills, hands-on training, and innovative mentoring experiences through community partnerships for career opportunities in West Virginia healthcare.
Project SEARCH
WVU Medicine is proud to participate in the Project SEARCH program. This annual internship provides hands-on workforce training at WVU hospitals to high school students with mild to moderate disabilities. The program combines classroom instruction with internships in various hospital departments preparing students for future employment through real-world experience and skill development.
In 2019, WVU Medicine J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital was the first site for Project SEARCH in West Virginia and continues to accept new intern classes each year.
