The following providers joined WVU Medicine in July:

ANESTHESIOLOGY

Kelsey Bauer, MD, joins the Department of Anesthesiology. She completed an interventional chronic pain fellowship and anesthesiology residency at UPMC.

John Bozek, MD, joins the Department of Anesthesiology. He was formerly employed at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. He completed a cardiothoracic anesthesiology fellowship at Mount Sinai, New York. He earned his medical degree and completed an anesthesiology residency at WVU.

Anna Carpenter, MD, joins the Department of Anesthesiology. She completed a chronic pain fellowship and anesthesiology residency at UPMC.

Abbas Khan, MD, joins the Department of Anesthesiology. He completed a cardiothoracic anesthesiology fellowship at the University at Buffalo.

BEHAVIORAL MEDICINE AND PSYCHIATRY

Nevine Estaphan, MD, joins the Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry. She completed a child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship and a psychiatric residency at WVU.

Dan Farmer, DO, joins the faculty of the Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry. He completed an addiction medicine fellowship and an internal medicine residency at WVU. Dr. Farmer was also on the hospitalist service in the WVU Department of Medicine.

COMMUNITY PRACTICE

Kristin Black, DO, joins the Department of Community Practice at the WVU Medicine Primary Care clinic in Cranberry Square and WVU Urgent Care. She completed a family medicine residency at United Hospital Center.

Kristine Brown, DO, joins the Department of Community Practice at the Cheat Lake pediatrics clinic. After her pediatrics residency at the University of Kentucky, she joined the Medical University of South Carolina. She earned her doctor of osteopathic medicine degree at the WV School of Osteopathic Medicine.

Mackenzie Clarkson, MD, joins the Department of Community Practice at West Preston Primary Care in Reedsville. He completed a medicine-pediatric residency at WVU.

Melinda Frazee, MD, joins the Department of Community Practice at the WVU Medicine Outpatient Center in Fairmont. She completed a family medicine residency at United Hospital Center.

EMERGENCY MEDICINE

Bradley End, MD, joins the Department of Emergency Medicine after completing his emergency medicine ultrasound fellowship at WVU.

Benjamin Lasure, MD, joins the Department of Emergency Medicine’s Acute Resource Group. He completed an emergency medicine residency at WVU..

FAMILY MEDICINE

Kylen Whipp, MD, joins the Department of Family Medicine. He completed a family medicine residency and earned his medical degree at WVU.

HEART AND VASCULAR INSTITUTE

Madhavi Kadiyala, MD
, joins the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute. She is the former assistant director of cardiac MRI and CT and the director of the Women’s Heart Program at St. Francis Hospital/The DeMatties Center at Stony Brook University School of Medicine in New York. She completed a fellowship in advanced cardiac imaging at Stony Brook.

MEDICINE

Kyle Chapman, MD, joins the Department of Medicine after completing his pulmonary critical care medicine fellowship and internal medicine residency at WVU.

Lindsay Kasson, DO, joins the Department of Medicine after completing her internal medicine residency at WVU.

Sanika Kaur, MD, joins the rheumatology division in the Department of Medicine. She completed a rheumatology fellowship at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia.

Andrea Labus, MD, joins the Department of Medicine after completing her internal medicine residency at WVU.

Charles Mupamombe, MD, joins the Department of Medicine. He completed a fellowship in hospice and palliative care at the University of Buffalo.

Megan Willard, MD, joins the digestive diseases division in the Department of Medicine. She was formerly an assistant professor at the University of Maryland.

The following physicians have joined the hospitalist service in the Department of Medicine:

  • Ridwaan Albeiruti, MD, completed an internal medicine residency at WVU.
  • Kevin Bogdansky, MD, completed an internal medicine residency at Jersey City Medical Center.
  • Harumi Uchida Burns, MD, was formerly a hospitalist at Excela Health/Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.
  • Fahad Chaudhary, MD, completed an internal medicine residency at WVU.
  • Zachary Einarsson, MD, was formerly a hospitalist and intensivist at Ohio State University where he also completed an internal medicine residency.
  • Mona Ghias, MD, completed an internal medicine residency at Jersey City Medical Center.
  • Kylie Parrish, MD, completed an internal medicine/pediatrics residency at WVU and has a joint appointment in pediatrics.

  • Sonikpreet Aulakh, MD, completed a fellowship in hematology/oncology at the Mayo Clinic in Florida and specializes in neuro-oncology.
  • Amir Kamran, MD, completed a hematology/oncology fellowship at Allegheny Health Network and specializes in genitourinary oncology.
  • Midhun Malla, MD, completed a hematology/oncology fellowship at Oklahoma University and specializes in gastrointestinal oncology.
  • Danh Pham, MD, completed a hematology/oncology fellowship at the University of Louisville and specializes in head and neck cancers.
  • Sumaira Shafi, MD, completed a hematology/oncology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine and will practice general hematology/oncology at Camden Clark Medical Center.

NEUROLOGY

Nate Mohney, MD, joins the Department of Neurology. He completed a neurocritical care fellowship at the University of Miami and a neurology residency at the University of Michigan.

Maziar Seyedian, MD, joins the Department of Neurology. He was a neurohospitalist at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in New London, Connecticut. He completed his vascular fellowship at Detroit Medical Center/Wayne State University.

Shitiz Kumar Sriwastava, MD, joins the Department of Neurology. He completed a neurology residency and a neuroimmunology fellowship at Wayne State, Detroit.

Richa Tripathi, MD, joins the Department of Neurology. She completed a fellowship in movement disorders at Emory University and a neurology residency at Wayne State University.

NEUROSURGERY

Milind Deogaonkar, MD, joins the Department of Neurosurgery and WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute. Dr. Deogaonkar was formerly an associate professor of neurosurgery, director of the Center for Neuromodulation, and director of the Division of Functional Neurosurgery at The Ohio State University. He specializes in the surgical management of movement disorders, chronic pain, and peripheral nerve disorders.

Mark Lyerly, MD, joins the Department of Neurosurgery at Berkeley Medical Center. He is the former owner of Neurosurgical Solutions in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He completed neurosurgery training at NC Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.

OBSTETRICS AND GYNECOLOGY

Lawrence Glad, MD, joins the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He was formerly a member of University of Pittsburgh Physicians in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences.

Kristan Hornsby, MD, joins the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at WVU.

Madison Sternburg, MD, joins the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the WVU Medicine Outpatient Center in Fairmont and at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. She completed her residency at WVU.

OPHTHALMOLOGY

Ryan McGuire, MD, joins the Department of Ophthalmology. He completed a pediatric ophthalmology fellowship at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Joel Palko, MD, joins the Department of Ophthalmology. He completed a glaucoma fellowship at UPMC and an ophthalmology residency at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.

PATHOLOGY

Katrin Kiavash, MD, joins the Department of Pathology. She completed a dermatopathology fellowship at Roger Williams Medical Center, Boston University.

Dane Olevian, MD, joins the Department of Pathology. He was a clinical instructor of pathology specializing in gastrointestinal and hepatic pathology at UPMC and completed a surgical pathology fellowship there.

Stell Patadji, MD, joins the Department of Pathology. She completed fellowships in surgical pathology and cytopathology at UPMC.

PEDIATRICS

Saif Al Qatarneh, MD, joins the Department of Pediatrics. He completed a pediatric pulmonology fellowship at UPMC.

Rebecca Burke, MD, PhD, joins the Department of Pediatrics. She completed neonatal-perinatal medicine and medical genetics fellowships at Baylor in Houston and a general pediatrics residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, associated with Nemours A.I. Dupont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware.

Margaret Mathewson, MD, joins the Department of Pediatrics. She completed a pediatric critical care medicine fellowship at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Casey McCluskey, MD, joins the Department of Pediatrics after completing a pediatric critical care fellowship at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, Cleveland, Ohio.

Sara McGuire, MD, joins the pediatric neurology division in the Department of Pediatrics. She completed a child neurology residency at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia.

Isabela Negrin, MD, joins the Department of Pediatrics after completing a pediatric residency at WVU.

Lara Srouji, MD, joins the Department of Pediatrics. She completed pediatric critical care medicine fellowship at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

RADIATION ONCOLOGY

Joshua Weir, DO, joins the Department of Radiation Oncology. He completed his residency at Oklahoma State University.

RADIOLOGY

Ariel Bailey, MD, joins the Department of Radiology having completed her residency at WVU.

Gerard Deib, MD, joins the Department of Radiology. He specializes in interventional neuroradiology, including pediatric epilepsy treatment. He completed an interventional neuroradiology/endovascular surgical neuroradiology fellowship at Johns Hopkins University.

Robert Grammer, MD, joins the Department of Radiology. He completed an interventional radiology fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina after completing a radiology residency and earning his medical degree at WVU.

Joe Joseph, MD, joins the Department of Radiology having completed a neuroradiology fellowship at WVU. He also was also a radiology resident at WVU and earned his medical degree at Marshall University.
