WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital is a compassionate, dedicated community hospital providing a full range of medical care to residents of Fayette County and the surrounding area for more than a century.

Located in southwestern Pennsylvania, a hub for coal mining and steel production during the industrial revolution, Uniontown Hospital was founded in 1902 in response to the healthcare needs of local miners and coke plant employees. The Hospital’s first patient, a child who suffered severe burns, arrived by horse-drawn carriage on Thanksgiving Day 1903.

In 2020, Uniontown Hospital joined the West Virginia University Health System with the mission to provide exceptional care close to home. Since joining the WVU Medicine family, the Hospital has expanded primary and specialty care services throughout the county and surrounding region.

Today, the 161-bed facility employs more than 1,000 individuals and 300+ medical staff representing more than 30 medical specialties.
