What does this mean?

R.I.S.E. Career Ladder

The R.I.S.E. to the Challenge Career Ladder Program was designed with the employee in mind. It’s an employee driven or activated initiative for which the employee takes ownership of their overall career trajectory one step at a time. Recognizing not all employees aspire to management ranks, the program was created to be nimble, flexible, and create opportunity for individual contributors to grow technically across critical workforce segments of WVU Medicine. 

Our new career ladder program empowers clinical professionals in Rehabilitation Services, Radiology, and Respiratory Therapy to advance their careers while continuing to do what they do best deliver exceptional patient care. This program recognizes excellence, expertise, and leadership without requiring a move into management. 

CAPE Nursing Program

The Clinical Advancement for Professional Excellence (CAPE) Program is a WVU Medicine system wide clinical advancement program (clinical ladder) for hospital based, direct care registered nurses. Clinical advancement programs are designed to enhance professional development, provide a reward system for quality clinical performance, promote quality nursing, and improve job satisfaction.
