WVU Medicine is committed to being a leader in minimally invasive treatment options. We strive to provide our patients with revolutionary treatments using the latest state-of-the-art technology. The expansion of our robotic-assisted surgery program, including the Mazor X™ robot, the da Vinci® Xi™ Surgical System and the ROSA® Knee System, further advance the technology available to patients in our region. These advances allow our expert surgeons to perform cutting-edge procedures right here in the Eastern Panhandle, resulting in better surgical outcomes and quicker recoveries.

The new and updated surgical suites at Berkeley Medical Center and Jefferson Medical Center were designed to accommodate the latest in robotic technology.

Mazor X™ Robot

WVU Medicine was the first health system in our region to offer robotic-guided spine surgery using the Mazor X. This system’s 3D comprehensive surgical plan and analytics allow surgeons to operate with greater precision, efficiency and confidence.

The da Vinci® Xi™ Surgical System

This sophisticated robotic surgery system allows the surgeons at Berkeley Medical Center to offer patients advanced minimally invasive surgical options to perform general surgery procedures such as hernia repairs, appendectomies, gallbladder removal and more.

ROSA® Knee System

Jefferson Medical Center is proud be the first hospital in our region to introduce the ROSA Knee System for robotic-assisted knee replacement. This innovative technology assists surgeons in optimizing their accuracy and efficiency when performing total knee replacement procedures.

Ion Endoluminal System

WVU Medicine Berkeley Medical Center is proud to offer this new platform for minimally invasive biopsy in the lung. The Ion endoluminal system by Intuitive is a robotic-assisted bronchoscopy tool designed to help pulmonologists obtain tissue samples from deep within the lung. Using the Ion, physicians are able to diagnose lung cancers earlier and less invasively.

Benefits of Robotic-Assisted Surgery may include
