WVU Medicine East provides high-quality, family-centered maternity care to meet the individual needs of all pregnant women – from routine obstetrical care to treatments for mothers and babies at the highest risk.

COVID-19 vaccine guidance: As the US begins distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) has recommended that pregnant and lactating patients still be allowed to decide, with their doctors, whether to receive the vaccine.

General Obstetrics

The birth of a child is a memorable event, and we are proud to be able to share this time with you and your family. We are committed to making you feel comfortable, informed, and prepared throughout your pregnancy.

Depending on your individual needs, your healthcare team can include doctors, certified nurse midwives, medical students, nurse practitioners, nurses, nursing students, physician assistants and ultrasonographers.

Our comfortable, family-centered Birthing Centers offer many options, and our providers and staff are highly skilled in caring for you during labor, delivery and postpartum, and for your newborn baby.

Certified lactation consultants provide support for new mothers who choose to breastfeed. Our goal is to maximize nursing comfort and success for both mom and baby.

WVU Medicine’s Gynecologic Oncology specialists are devoted to caring for women with gynecologic cancers and pre-cancerous conditions.

We take a holistic, proactive approach to diagnosing and treating women for all types of gynecologic diseases. We work as a team with radiation oncologists, supportive care and other physicians to ensure that you receive the correct diagnosis and the most advanced care.

Dr. Rosenshein, Board Certified Gynecologic Oncologist, has devoted his medical career to advancing surgical techniques to treat female tract cancers including ovarian, cervical, uterine, endometrial, vulvar and vaginal cancers.

With a focus on the medical needs of each patient, Dr. Rosenshien is known for his surgical precision and compassionate concern for his patients. This concern includes a deep appreciation for the healing power that family and friends contribute to the patient’s overall recovery.
