About Us
Thomas Health was formed in 2007 forging a partnership between two strong and established community hospitals, Thomas Orthopedic Hospital (formerly Saint Francis Hospital) and Thomas Memorial Hospital. Together, the two hospitals bring more than 170 years of service to the region.
On January 1, 2023, Thomas Health became a member of West Virginia’s largest, most extensive and fastest growing health system – WVU Medicine Health System. Thomas Health rebranded to be known as “WVU Medicine Thomas Hospitals.” The Thomas Hospitals team includes more than 450 providers at two hospitals and more than 40 locations throughout Kanawha and Putman counties.
