Before Your Visit
What to Bring
Please bring your photo ID along with any insurance information with you to the hospital. Please check in with one of our admissions staff.
Our admissions staff will assist you through the admissions process, answering questions you may have and providing you with information about your visit with us.
Please provide your caregivers with a list of all the medicines you have been using at home. This includes over-the-counter medicines, dietary supplements, vitamins, and herbs. If you have allergies, let us know so that you can avoid drastic reactions to any new medicines that might be prescribed.
Potomac Valley Hospital is not responsible for valuables or personal items such as hearing aids, dentures, and eyeglasses. We ask that you leave your wallet, jewelry, and other valuables at home or with a friend or family member. If this is not an option, please speak with your nurse about special arrangements. Potomac Valley Hospital is not responsible for the loss of any valuables. Please report any missing items to a nurse.
Parking
All visitors are asked to park in lots specifically designated for visitors, free of charge.

Transportation
Formed in 1977, Potomac Valley Transit Authority (PVTA) provides deviated flexible route public transportation services to residents throughout Hampshire, Hardy, Grant, Mineral and Pendleton Counties. PVTA seeks to improve the quality of life for its riders by offering safe, convenient and affordable public transportation services.
301 – Keyser Ready R!de operates Monday – Friday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. Call 304-257-1414 to schedule a pickup. Last call for service is taken at 4:15 pm.
Please note that Uber and taxi services are limited in our area. We encourage patients and visitors to check the Uber app to schedule a ride and confirm service options.
Potomac Valley Hospital is pleased to offer valet parking services year-round, Monday – Friday, 7am-3:30 p.m. Valet parking is located at the front main entrance to the hospital.

Words or actions that are disrespectful, racist, discriminatory, hostile, or harassing will not be tolerated.
Our campus is tobacco and smoke-free, including the use of electronic smoking devices, vapor products, and chewing tobacco. All buildings and grounds are tobacco and smoke-free; the tobacco and smoke-free policy applies to all areas surrounding our buildings, sidewalks, and parking lots.
WVU Medicine prohibits the possession of or carrying of any weapons of any kind, concealed or otherwise.
Alcoholic beverages and illegal substances are not permitted on the Potomac Valley campus.
