SEE OUR PROVIDERS

Leading Pulmonary Care, Right Here in the Mid-Ohio Valley.

The Interventional Pulmonology (IP) Program at WVU Medicine Camden Clark is the only program of its kind in the Mid-Ohio Valley, and one of only two in West Virginia. Directed by Dr. Roshen Mathew, MD, DAABIP, one of the state’s only fellowship-trained interventional pulmonologists, our team delivers advanced diagnostics and therapies for complex lung conditions with a focus on early, accurate diagnosis and minimally invasive care.

Innovation Meets Compassionate Care

From West Virginia’s only Mid-Ohio Valley Interventional Pulmonology program to advanced Body Vision CT technology and Zephyr Valve procedures, Camden Clark continues to deliver university-level pulmonary care—right here at home.

Advanced Pulmonary & Interventional Procedures

Our interventional pulmonology team uses advanced endoscopic, imaging, and bronchoscopy techniques to diagnose and treat both benign and malignant conditions of the airways and lungs.

Advanced Diagnostic Endoscopy & Bronchoscopy

Navigation bronchoscopy for lung nodules, endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS), esophageal ultrasound (EUS-FNA), radial EBUS for lung nodules, transbronchial cryobiopsy, and ultrasound-guided biopsies of lymph nodes, liver, or lung masses.

Therapeutic Bronchoscopy

Includes rigid bronchoscopy, airway stent placement, balloon dilation, cryotherapy, LASER and argon plasma coagulation, electrocautery, endobronchial valve placement for air leaks, and bronchoscopic lung volume reduction for emphysema (BLVR).

Pleural Procedures

Thoracentesis, pleural ultrasound-guided biopsy, tunneled catheter placement, chemical pleurodesis, and thoracoscopic pleural biopsies.

Respiratory Therapy Services

COPD, emphysema, asthma, and lung cancer care through oxygen therapy, spirometry, CPAP/BiPAP, ventilator management, and patient education.

Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program

Comprehensive exercise and education program for patients with chronic lung disease to improve function, strength, and quality of life.

Body Vision™ Intraoperative CT Imaging

Using Body Vision’s C-Arm Based Tomography (CABT), pulmonologists can now visualize lung lesions in 3D, in real time, during bronchoscopy—allowing for earlier and more accurate diagnosis.

“Body Vision is a huge stride forward in comparison to other navigation bronchoscopy modalities… The flexibility of being able to adapt any tool with advanced intraoperative CT imaging gives me confidence to sample the lesion for a definitive diagnosis.”
Roshen Mathew, MD, DAABIP

Low-Dose CT Lung Cancer Screening: Are You Eligible?

Early detection saves lives. Low-dose CT (LDCT) scans can detect lung cancer before symptoms appear—when it’s most treatable.

Eligibility Requirements

o Ages 50–77 o Current smoker or quit within past 15 years o 20 pack-year or greater smoking history (packs/day × years smoked) o Must be asymptomatic and have no lung CT within the past 12 months o Requires a provider’s order for LDCT

Insurance Coverage

LDCT lung screenings are covered by Medicare or billed to private insurance. Ask your primary care provider today if you qualify.

Zephyr® Endobronchial Valve for Severe COPD/Emphysema

The Zephyr Valve is a minimally invasive procedure that helps patients with severe COPD/emphysema breathe easier by closing off diseased lung sections to allow healthy areas to function more effectively. Candidates must have confirmed COPD/emphysema with reduced lung function (FEV1 ≤ 50%) and will undergo evaluation to determine eligibility.

Benefits:

  • Easier breathing and reduced shortness of breath

  • Increased energy and activity levels

  • Improved quality of life
