Family-Centered Care, Designed for Comfort

Our Special Delivery Unit is built around the needs of families and supported by a highly skilled nursing team trained to care for moms during labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and newborn care.

 

Safe and Secure Women’s & Children’s Units

For the safety of new mothers, babies, and children, these units are secured with access that is limited and monitored around the clock by security staff.

  • 9 labor and delivery suites

  • 13-bed postpartum unit

  • 3 triage bays

  • Newborn nursery

  • 12-bed pediatric unit located adjacent to the Special Delivery Unit

High-Risk Pregnancy & Advanced Support

Some pregnancies require additional monitoring and specialized care. Our team is ready to provide the advanced services you need — right here close to home.

High-Risk Pregnancy Care

Perinatologists (doctors who specialize in high-risk pregnancy care) are available to help manage conditions such as gestational diabetes or preeclampsia. They also provide specialized care for patients who have existing medical conditions that may impact pregnancy.

Our staff is highly skilled in caring for you during labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery, and for your newborn baby. Our goal is to provide expert care with comfort, compassion, and clear communication.

Lactation Support That Helps You Succeed

Breast milk is packed with nutrients and provides health benefits for babies and moms while supporting mother-infant bonding. Our lactation consultants work with pregnant women and new moms to support breastfeeding success — from your first feed before discharge to ongoing help after you return home.

Free Classes for Parents and Families

WVU Medicine Camden Clark offers six classes, all free of charge — whether you delivered with us or not. All participants should check in at the hospital information desk upon arrival to be directed to the correct location.
