Cafeteria Services
The Barnesville Hospital cafeteria offers a selection of home-style meals and convenient, ready-to-serve items for patients and visitors.

Hours of Operation:
Open daily from 7:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Patient Meal Times:
Breakfast: 7:30 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.
Lunch: 11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Dinner: 4:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Additional Options:
Vending machines with a variety of snacks and beverages are available in the snack shop.

Please note: Many patients are on special diets. We kindly ask visitors to consult with the nursing staff before bringing food or beverages to patient rooms.

Waiting Areas

There are specially designated lounge areas for visitors by the emergency department, inpatient floor, surgical department, and in the main lobby.

In Room Services

Patient Meal Service
Patients are provided meals at the following times:
Breakfast: 7:30 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.
Lunch: 11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Dinner: 4:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

In special circumstances, a patient’s family member may request a meal to be delivered to the patient’s room. These requests must be made in advance. A bill will accompany the meal tray and must be paid in the cafeteria by the visitor.

Hospital Room Phones
Friends and family may reach patients by dialing 740-425-5045, followed by the appropriate extension number for direct connection. Alternatively, callers may contact the hospital switchboard at 740-425-3941 for assistance.
Direct patient room calls are permitted between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. Extension numbers can be provided by hospital staff.

Pharmacy Services
Barnesville Hospital operates an inpatient pharmacy to meet your medication needs during your stay. Upon discharge, our staff will coordinate prescription arrangements with your preferred pharmacy.

Pharmacy hours are:
Monday – Friday: 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Weekends: 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Social Services
Supportive counseling is available for inpatients, terminally ill patients and their families, or any patient experiencing a crisis. Our Social Services team also provides comprehensive discharge planning for pediatric through geriatric patients. Services include, but are not limited to:

  • Nursing home or rehabilitation placement
  • Coordination of in-home services
  • Assistance with durable medical equipment
  • Transportation planning
  • After-hours needs can be addressed by contacting the nursing or floor supervisor, who will connect you with a social worker or discharge planning nurse as necessary.

Spiritual Care

The chapel at Barnesville Hospital provides a peaceful and relaxing environment where visitors can reflect, meditate, or pray. Located across from the main hospital entrance, visitors, and patients of any or no faith tradition are welcome. The space is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Chaplains are available for patients and family members upon request.

Wifi

Computers, tablets, and smartphones with wireless capability can connect to the internet with FriendsConnect, a free, wireless service provided by Friends of WVU Hospitals. If you have trouble with your internet connection, please call the WVU Medicine Help Desk at 304-598-4357. This number is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
