Garrett Regional Medical Center is a member of the Maryland Health Information Exchange (HIE), the Chesapeake Regional Information System for our Patients (CRISP) operates. CRISP has been formally designated as Maryland’s statewide health information exchange by the Maryland Health Care Commission.
Both HIE and CRISP allow clinical information to move electronically among disparate health information systems. The goal of the HIE is to deliver the right health information to the right place at the right time – providing safer, more efficient, more effective, and more equitable patient-centered care.
Patients may opt-out of participating in the HIE. Patients who choose not to participate must complete the Health Information Exchange Patient Opt-Out Form. To fill out the form, visit the CRISP web site at www.crisphealth.org, or call 877-952-7477.
