Mammography

Camden Clark’s Mammography Department is accredited by the American College of Radiology and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Using dedicated mammography equipment, a certified technologist performs the exams. Camden Clark utilizes digital mammography for its exams. Because all images are now on computers, retrieval of images is much faster. Radiologists who interpret the images can manipulate them for better interpretation. Digital mammography is especially ideal for seeing microcalcifications in women with dense breasts.

3D Mammography

Camden Clark offers 3D mammography at two convenient locations including the main campus on Garfield Avenue in Parkersburg and Marietta Gynecologic Associates on 2nd Street in Marietta.

Benefits of 3D Mammography include:

  • Patients can control compression with the guidance of a technologist
  • A more comfortable experience
  • Better cancer detection and quicker results

Appointments for this state-of-the-art imaging procedure are currently available by referral. Talk with your primary care provider to schedule a 3D mammography appointment.

Stereotactic Imaging

For women who need a biopsy, Camden Clark uses a stereotactic breast biopsy unit from Hologic. Using this less invasive procedure, the doctor is able to biopsy the lesion with a core biopsy needle, causing little or no discomfort to the patient. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis and requires no inpatient stay. If the core sample is negative, then routine follow-up is all that is needed.
