WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center Announces
Annual Scholarships for Healthcare and Nursing Students

WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center is offering several scholarships this spring through the Camden Clark Auxiliary and the Camden Clark Foundation.

The Auxiliary is sponsoring Leo D. Carsner Memorial Scholarships to area college students pursuing a degree in a healthcare field. Funding for these scholarships is made available through a variety of auxiliary projects.

To be eligible, students must live in the area serviced by Camden Clark Medical Center, which includes 11 counties in West Virginia and Ohio; and must have completed one year of college at an accredited school or be in the final weeks of their first year. Applicants will be judged on their scholastic ability, leadership attributes, potential contribution to the health care field, and financial need. Applicants must provide their official transcript of grades, three letters of recommendation from instructors, supervisors or employers, and a personal essay to explain their career goals, knowledge and experience in their career field. Completed applications should be sent to: CCMC Volunteer Services, 800 Garfield Avenue, Parkersburg, WV 26101.

Applications are available on our website at camdenclark.org, in the Volunteer Service Department located on the third floor, and at the Information desk in the main lobby of the hospital. All applications must be completed and returned by March 23, 2018. Scholarships will be presented at the annual volunteer luncheon on April 20 2018. Last year, three $2500 scholarships were awarded to students in the area.

The Camden Clark Foundation is sponsoring two $1500 Nursing Scholarships for nursing students who are currently enrolled and have completed one year as a nursing student. To be eligible, students interested in applying for the scholarships must provide written documentation of acceptance to a Registered Nurse program accredited by the National League of Nursing (NLN). They must live in the area served by Camden Clark Medical Center, which includes 11 counties in West Virginia and Ohio, and they must use the scholarship within the next academic year. Application deadline is April 12, 2018. Recipients of the scholarships will be awarded during the Annual Nursing Alumnae Luncheon on Thursday, May 17, 2018, in the Camden Clark Medical Center Leo D. Carsner Auditorium.
