Our Mission

Healthy Minds – Clarksburg is a comprehensive mental health center servicing six counties in north central West Virginia. Healthy Minds – Clarksburg and Healthy Minds – Chestnut Ridge, in coordination with WVU Medicine, work together to provide quality behavioral health service to people who have acute and chronic psychiatric disabilities, intellectual/developmental disabilities, substance abuse problems, and to people who are in crisis in an effort to assist in the achievement of their fullest potential.

Our Programs

Adult Transitional Unit (ATU)
The ATU is a stepdown facility which is organized, operated, and maintained to provide for the monitoring and care of patients after psychiatric hospitalization. The ATU provides transitional care and reintegration into the community for individuals whose immediate treatment needs require a structured 24-hour residential setting that provides all required services on site.

Services provided include, but are not limited to, multi-disciplinary evaluation, medication management, individual, family and group therapy, substance abuse education/counseling, and other support services including case management and discharge planning.

Harrison House
Harrison House is a grant-based residential services targeted to transition participants to long-term community placement. Treatment focuses on maintaining psychiatric stability while gaining independent daily living skills.
Day Treatment
Day Treatment is a grant-based habilitation service located in Harrison County. The program is targeted to assist chronically mentally ill participants in maintaining community placement.

Substance Use Disorder Outpatient Services
Outpatient addiction services offer West Virginia residents opportunities to address their substance abuse and commit to treatment.

Our Intensive Outpatient Program is a six-week program consists of three-hour group therapy sessions, three times per week. These sessions are designed not only to help those suffering with substance abuse and dependence, but to learn about their addictions, the recovery process, and how addiction impacted current life circumstances. Healing House
Healing House provides services for adults seeking additional addiction residential treatment after the conclusion of a 28-day program. The program utilizes practice in applying recovery skills in everyday life through the continuation of treatment. Treatment includes the use of medication-assisted treatment, therapy and peer supports.
Psychiatric Crisis Unit
The Psychiatric Crisis Unit is a specialized service targeted to prevent individuals from inpatient psychiatric hospitalization with a less-restrictive environment.
School-based Services
This program is designed to give students the opportunity to speak with a behavioral health professional in the familiarity of their school environment through group and individual meetings during the school day. As part of the meetings, the students will participate in various activities and discussion in order to identify emotional disturbances and challenging behaviors that interfere with their social, emotional and academic development.

Intellectual Developmental Disabilities Waiver (IDDW) Program
The Intellectual Developmental Disabilities Waiver (IDDW) Program provides services that instruct, train, support, supervise and assist individuals who have intellectual disabilities and/or developmental disabilities in achieving the highest level of independence and self-sufficiency possible in their lives. Services are provided to children and adults, in natural settings, homes and communities where the member resides, works, and shops. In order to meet the needs of each individual and promote a level of self-reliance, we provide service coordination.

Privacy Practices

All reasonable effects will be made to protect the privacy of Healthy Minds – Clarksburg’s client health information, whether it is maintained on paper or electronically. Federal Law requires that all clients be provided a copy of the Healthy Minds – Clarksburg Privacy Notice. The Privacy Notice describes in detail how client health information is used and shared with others.

Consumer Rights

Every client will review and receive a copy of the Healthy Minds – Clarksburg Client Rights brochure which described in detail the various rights each client has as a consumer of Healthy Minds – Clarksburg.

Human Rights Committee

The Human Rights Committee’s role is to assist the agency in the protection of client’s rights and considering ethical and rights issues that arise in client care.
