WVU Medicine Thomas Hospitals celebrates opening of new Pediatric Subspecialty & Telemedicine Clinic

SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Leaders from WVU Medicine, WVU Medicine Golisano Children’s, and local officials will join together to cut the ribbon on a brand-new Pediatric Subspecialty & Telemedicine Clinic located on the Thomas Memorial Hospital campus on Friday, December 5 at 10:30 a.m. 

This clinic will expand access to advanced pediatric specialty care for children and families in southern West Virginia.

Kacie Owens, APRN, PPCNP-BC, will serve as the clinics local provider. Owens will partner directly with pediatric subspecialists in Morgantown, coordinating patient care through real-time telemedicine technology that allows families to receive specialty services without leaving South Charleston.

Located at 4501 MacCorkle Ave. SW, Floor 4, in South Charleston, the new clinic offers expanded access to pediatric gastroenterology, genetics, nephrology, neurology, neurosurgery, pulmonary, and urology services. During appointments, patients are seen in person by Owens while simultaneously interacting with subspecialists at WVU Medicine Golisano Childrens Hospital via secure telemedicine systems. 

The telemedicine clinic enhances the growing pediatric network at WVU Medicine Thomas Hospitals, which includes general pediatrics, pediatric cardiology, pediatric orthopaedics, and pediatric endocrinology services. Together, these programs support a comprehensive continuum of care for children in the region.
