WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital Rural Health Clinic at Brushy Fork Receives WVU Medicine Pop Star Award

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — The Rural Health Clinic at Brushy Fork, part of WVU Medicine St. Joseph's Hospital, has been recognized with the WVU Medicine Pop Star Award, an honor presented by the WVU Medicine Population Health Services Organization (PHSO).

The Pop Star Award recognizes primary care clinics across the WVU Medicine system that demonstrate excellence in quality metrics for both adult and pediatric patient populations. To earn the designation, clinics must achieve a clinical quality score of 3.9 or higher on a five-point scale in preventive care and chronic disease management.

The award was presented to clinic staff by Dr. John Redding, vice president of population health for the WVU Health System.

“This recognition reflects the dedication and hard work of our Brushy Fork team in providing high-quality, patient-centered care to our community,” said Evelyn McGee, MBA, Director of Ancillary Services & Ambulatory Clinics. “Our staff is committed to helping patients stay healthy through preventive care, chronic disease management and compassionate primary care services.”

The Rural Health Clinic at Brushy Fork provides comprehensive primary care services to patients in Upshur County and the surrounding region, with a focus on improving health outcomes and increasing access to care in rural communities.

The Pop Star Award highlights the clinic’s commitment to advancing population health initiatives and delivering exceptional care that supports long-term wellness for patients of all ages.
