WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital Celebrates Ribbon Cutting for Senior Life Solutions Program
Buckhannon, W.Va. — WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital celebrated the official launch of its new Senior Life Solutions program today with a ribbon cutting ceremony, marking an important step in expanding access to mental health services for older adults in the region.
Senior Life Solutions is an outpatient group therapy program designed specifically for adults age 65 and older who may be experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, grief, or other emotional challenges often associated with aging and life transitions.
The program provides structured group therapy sessions led by trained behavioral health professionals, creating a supportive environment where participants can connect with peers while learning coping strategies and tools to improve their overall well-being.
Hospital leaders, community partners, and staff gathered for the ceremony to recognize the importance of providing local access to mental health services for seniors.
“Senior Life Solutions represents an important investment in the emotional and behavioral health of our community’s older adults,” said Taylor Matlick, Senior Life Solutions Program Director. “Many seniors face challenges such as isolation, grief, or major life changes, and this program provides a supportive space where they can connect with others and receive the care they deserve close to home.”
The program accepts referrals from physicians, family members, or individuals who may benefit from additional support. Participants attend structured group sessions several days per week and also receive individualized care planning.
WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital continues to expand services aimed at improving both the physical and mental health of the communities it serves.
