The WVU Cancer Institute's annual Pink Party will take
place on Monday, Sept. 15.

The event will include cocktails, hors doeuvres, and a silent auction featuring specialty items, trips, and experiences. Tickets are $125 and can be purchased online at WVUCancerPinkParty.com.

Bonnie’s Bus, WVU Medicine's first mobile mammography unit, has provided breast cancer screenings throughout West Virginia for nearly 17 years, delivering care close to home for those in rural parts of the state with limited or no access to mammography screenings.

It began its screenings in 2009 through a donation from Jo and Ben Statler. More than 33,000 mammograms have been performed and at least 190 cases of breast cancer have been detected through screenings provided by the Bus since its inception. Regular breast screenings can allow for early detection and treatment of breast cancer.

Bonnies Bus provides screenings to patients in all 55 West Virginia counties, and no woman over the age of 40 is turned away due to lack of insurance. Funding for underinsured and uninsured patients is provided through grants and private donations.

Those who cannot attend the Pink Party can support Bonnie's Bus online at give.wvu.edu/pinkparty.
