FAIRMONT, W.Va. – The WVU Cancer Institute at WVU Medicine Fairmont Medical Center (FMC) opened its new infusion center yesterday (Oct. 20). This expansion, along with the Medical Oncology Clinic that opened last month and the hospital’s Radiation Oncology services, provides Marion County residents a full range of cancer care in their own community.

“Cancer care is not just about treatment – it’s about community, connection, and compassion,” Hannah Hazard-Jenkins, M.D., director and executive chair of the WVU Cancer Institute, said. “We want patients to have the resources and care they need in the communities where they live and work. This is just another step we are taking to offer our patients with vital services in the Marion County area – closer to home and to their families.”

The clinic includes a lab draw station, three exam rooms, one provider workroom, and one station for obtaining patient vitals. The infusion area includes eight private infusion bays with heated massage chairs with one station for faster services, such as injections. There is also one flex room that can serve as an exam room or infusion room based on daily need.
