WVU Cancer Institute among top oncology programs in Becker’s Hospital Review
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The WVU Cancer Institute has been named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s 2025 Hospitals and Health Systems with Great Oncology Programs, a list highlighting leading oncology programs across the nation that are driving innovation, research, and discovery in cancer care.
The Becker’s editorial team selects featured programs based on nominations and respected rankings by organizations such as U.S. News & World Report and Newsweek.
“Our team of healthcare providers and researchers at the WVU Cancer Institute are passionate about ensuring our patients have the highest level of care, and this type of recognition is just another testament to that commitment,” Hannah Hazard-Jenkins, M.D., executive chair and director of the WVU Cancer Institute, said. “We’re honored to once again be included on this list with other prestigious healthcare organizations around the country.”
Programs featured on the list are recognized for offering cutting-edge treatment options, conducting impactful research, participating in groundbreaking clinical trials, and adhering to rigorous safety standards.
Patients with cancer are finding care closer to home with the expansion of WVU Cancer Institute services and treatments. With a regional network of 18 care centers, including two mobile screening units and the recent opening of a new infusion center at WVU Medicine Fairmont Medical Center, patients have easier access to advanced experts and technologies.
Many honorees, including the WVU Cancer Institute, are working toward or hold a National Cancer Institute designation, further demonstrating their commitment to excellence.
Becker’s Hospital Review emphasizes that this list is neither exhaustive nor an endorsement of included programs but rather a celebration of excellence and progress in oncology. The full list, which features individual profiles of the recognized hospitals and health systems, is available online.
