Camden Clark Foundation Hosts Wicked-Themed Heart Ball to Reduce Barriers to Heart Care

As part of American Heart Month outreach efforts, the Camden Clark Foundation will host its annual Heart Ball, Hearts for Good: The Wicked Ball, on Saturday, February 28 at the Parkersburg Resiliency Center.

This year’s Heart Ball features a Wicked-inspired theme, with décor and entertainment elements drawing inspiration from the popular Broadway production and film series. The evening will include live artists, a silent and live auction, heavy hors d’oeuvres, and a dueling piano performance by The Cleveland Keys.

The annual fundraiser brings the community together in support of Cardiology Services at WVU Heart and Vascular Institute at Camden Clark with proceeds remaining local and benefiting Mid-Ohio Valley patients seeking cardiac care.

Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the United States. Through events like the Heart Ball, the Camden Clark Foundation works to reduce financial and logistical barriers to care, ensuring patients have access to the tools and support needed to manage their heart health and improve outcomes.

Nearly $40,000 was raised at last year’s event through the generosity of sponsors, donors, and attendees. Those funds helped purchase at-home monitoring supplies including blood pressure cuffs and weight scale, allowing patients to track their health between appointments. Gas cards were also provided to assist patients facing transportation challenges when traveling to cardiac care visits.

“American Heart Month is about awareness, prevention, and action,” said Kim Couch, Executive Director of the Camden Clark Foundation. “Through the Heart Ball, our community is taking action to support local patients. Every dollar raised stays here in the Mid-Ohio Valley, helping remove financial and logistical barriers so patients can focus on managing their heart health.”.
