WVU Medicine CCMC Names Sean Smith VP Physician Enterprises and Clinical Integration

WVU Medicine Camden Clark Health System (CCHS) today announced that Sean Smith was named Vice President of Physician Enterprises and Clinical Integration. Smith most recently served as Vice President, Business Development and Clinical Integration at CCMC where he was responsible for program development, physician recruitment and the clinical integration of services.

“Sean’s years of experience working closely with physicians and their practices and his knowledge of how that translates to improving access to care and enhancing patient experiences makes him the perfect choice for this new role. His demonstrated ability to recruit and work with physicians and integrate their clinical expertise will be key to helping realize our vision, goals and outcomes,” said Steve Altmiller, President and CEO of WVU Medicine Camden Clark.

Smith’s new role now includes responsibility for the operations of employed physician ambulatory services of WVU Medicine throughout the area served by Camden Clark. His responsibilities also include management oversight for the development of high quality, patient-centered, cost effective and integrated medical practices and clinics.

“I am passionate about all the improvements and innovations we’ve implemented at WVU Medicine Camden Clark over the past few years and look forward to my responsibilities to provide leadership support for our ambulatory services,” said Smith.

A St. Marys, WV native, Smith received both his undergraduate (2000) and masters (2002) degrees from Marshall University and joined WVU Medicine Camden Clark in 2011. Over the past eight years, he has held management positions including Vice President of Operations, Executive Director, Camden Clark Physician Corporation and Director of Physician Recruitment. Smith serves on the board of directors of the Mid-Ohio Valley United Way and Parkersburg YMCA was selected to the inaugural 2018-2019 WV Hospital Association State Leadership Class, is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and is a 2015 graduate of the Camden Clark Medical Center Leadership Academy. He is also a certified high school football coach and volunteers his time helping local teams.
