WVU Children’s Hospital will favor from Dairy Queen’s Miracle Treat Day

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – If you’re looking to take the edge off the summer heat on Thursday (Aug. 11), head over to your local Dairy Queen, where the purchase of a Blizzard will support WVU Children’s Hospital.

On Miracle Treat Day, Dairy Queen will donate at least $1 of all Blizzards sold to Children’s Miracle Network. Since 1984, Dairy Queen has raised more than $86 million for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals, including $5.5 million in 2010. WVU Children’s Hospital is the only Children’s Miracle Network hospital in West Virginia.

Participating Dairy Queen stores in West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky will join forces to support WVU Children’s Hospital. Last year, WVU Children’s Hospital received more than $33,000 from Miracle Treat Day.

“This is one of those events we look forward to every year, and we’re grateful for the longstanding partnership we have with Dairy Queen,” Cheryl Jones, R.N., director of WVU Children’s Hospital, said. “This is a great way to not only support our cause but also to raise awareness of the services we provide to children from all over West Virginia and the surrounding region.”
