St. Joseph’s Hospital welcomes Dr. Ross Knowles

BUCKHANNON, W.VA. -St. Joseph’s Hospital is pleased to welcome Ross Knowles, D.O., to the surgical team at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Dr. Knowles is a general surgeon and is accepting new patients.

“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Knowles to our surgical team here at St. Joseph’s Hospital,” Skip Gjolberg, president of St. Joseph’s Hospital, said. “Dr. Knowles will be a valuable addition to our excellent team of providers.”

Knowles is a native of Logan County. He received his bachelor’s degree from Fairmont State University and completed his doctorate at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. He went on to complete a general surgery residency at the University of Massachusetts and the University of New England affiliate Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.

His practice of general surgery includes diseases of the skin and soft tissue, breast, thyroid and parathyroid, GERD, gallbladder, colon, and hernia surgery. He also performs upper and lower endoscopy screenings.

Knowles has gone on surgical missions to Central America with Hands and Hearts for Christ, is a licensed commercial pilot, and enjoys mountaineering, skiing, and dual sport motorcycle touring.
