St. Joseph’s Hospital celebrates Nurses, Hospital weeks

BUCKHANNON, W.VA. – WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital is celebrating National Nurses Week (May 6-12) and National Hospital Week (May 8-14) with a variety of activities and events honoring hospital and nursing staff.

“Recognizing and thanking our staff is always very important,” Skip Gjolberg, president and CEO of St. Joseph’s Hospital, said. “We truly thank them for their compassion and dedication as we have worked to keep our community safe, especially throughout this pandemic.”

Themed activities are planned daily at the hospital, including “Red, White, Blue, We Appreciate You,” “Wild West Wednesday,” and “Teamwork Thursday.”

Buckhannon Mayor Robert Neal Skinner, III, signed a proclamation declaring May 8-14 to be Nurses’ and Hospital Week in Buckhannon, urging residents to express their appreciation for St. Joseph’s Hospital and its staff.
