St. Joseph’s Hospital celebrates 100th anniversary with special Mass

BUCKHANNON, W.VA. -- WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital celebrated its 100th anniversary with Group outside of Holy Rosary Catholic Churcha special Mass by Bishop Mark E. Brennan with the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston.

The 100th Anniversary Liturgy was held on Wednesday, April 7, at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Buckhannon with St. Joseph’s Hospital staff and community members in attendance.

St. Joseph Hospital was opened by the Pallottine Missionary Sisters on March 28, 1921. Their mission continues today through the support of WVU Medicine: “We are inspired by the love of Christ to provide our community with quality healthcare in ways which respect the God-given dignity of each person and the sacredness of human life.”
