First Wine and Dine with Coach Huggins raises $4K for WVU Cancer Research

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Dozens of people flocked to The Wine Bar in Morgantown on Sept. 21 for a Wine and Dine party with WVU Men’s Basketball Coach Bob Huggins and raised more than $4,000 for cancer research at the WVU Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center.

Coach Huggins teamed up with The Wine Bar to celebrate the premiere of his No. 35 Cabernet Sauvignon.  A limited number of his specialty wine was sold with part of the proceeds from each purchase going to the Norma Mae Huggins Cancer Research Endowment at the Cancer Center.

“It was a terrific event with great wine and even better company,” Scot Remick, M.D., Cancer Center director, said. “We are extremely grateful to Coach Huggins for his efforts in raising awareness about his Cancer Research Fund that benefits cancer patients in West Virginia by improving access to cancer clinical trials.”
The Wine Bar will also host a second Wine and Dine with Coach Huggins at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 19.

Tickets for the October party are $200 each with $50 from each ticket sale going directly to the Huggins Endowment at the Cancer Center. For each ticket purchased, participants will receive a glass of wine, an original autographed bottle of Huggins’ No. 35 Cabernet Sauvignon, and a sampling of food, including artisan cheese, charcuterie, select tapas, salad, pasta, and assorted desserts. There will also be a cash bar.
