Camden Clark’s Annual Health & Wellness Day Returns to Grand Central Mall on Saturday, Aug. 5

Opportunities for low-cost lab work made available by Rotary Club of Parkersburg

The WVU Medicine Camden Clark Annual Health & Wellness Day will return to Grand Central Mall from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Saturday August 5 for the first time since 2019. Nearly 40 exhibitors will be participating in the event, which aims to provide education to area residents to highlight advancements in healthcare services available locally while improving and maintaining health and wellness for families of all ages.  

Representatives from hospital service lines and departments will be participating including Primary Care, Cardiology, Radiology, Cancer Services, Women’s & Children’s Services and more. 

This event will provide the opportunity for all Mid-Ohio Valley residents to receive the best value on blood work made available as a service project by the Rotary Club of Parkersburg, with proceeds to benefit several community outreach efforts. Area residents will pay in advance on the day of the event for a variety of blood screenings. Once purchased, authorization forms may be redeemed for approximately five weeks at select Camden Clark lab locations.

Vouchers will be available for $43 and $50 for women and men, respectively, including the following screenings. 

Women: 

Basic Metabolic Panel (BMP) (Fasting) 

Basic Metabolic Panel (BMP) (Non-fasting) 

Hemoglobin A1C (HbA1c, Diabetes) 

Lipid (Cholesterol) Panel 

TSH: Thyroid Stimulating Hormone 

Men:

Low-cost blood work vouchers may be redeemed Monday, August 7 through Friday, September 15 at three of Camden Clark’s lab locations including Harbor Point Primary Care, Medical Office Building – B and the Garfield Medical Complex. Labs will not be drawn on site at Grand Central Mall on the day of the event. 

In addition to the low-cost blood work vouchers available for purchase, several free health screenings will be offered during the event including EKGs provided by Parkersburg Cardiology Associates, blood pressure readings, blood glucose finger stick tests, DermaScan skin cancer screenings, among others.  

Participants will also have an opportunity to learn more about colon cancer screening and options available locally which will feature an inflatable colon exhibit, the Strollin’ Colon. Individuals are invited to take a stroll through the 10 by 12-foot inflatable colon, which demonstrates what a healthy colon looks like along with what it looks like when colon cancer and other conditions are present. 

Demonstrations will be provided throughout the event at Center Court Main Stage including Temple Challenge workouts, food demonstrations from Camden Clark’s Dietary Department and exercise class demonstrations provided by the Camden Clark Health & Wellness Center. Children’s car seat safety checks will also be available free of charge during the duration of the event at the Big Lots parking located beside the Grand Central Mall.
