WVU Medicine Garrett Medical Group in LaVale to offer pulmonary function testing beginning October 21

LaVale, Md. – WVU Medicine Garrett Medical Group is pleased to announce that beginning October 21, 2025, patients will have access to pulmonary function tests (PFTs) at its LaVale, Maryland, office.

PFTs are a key diagnostic tool in evaluating lung health and can be ordered by any provider—including nurse practitioners, physicians, and specialists. These tests help assess how well a patient’s lungs are working and provide valuable information for the diagnosis and management of respiratory conditions.

Testing will be available three days a week, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., offering patients greater convenience and timely access to care close to home.

“We are proud to expand the services available at our LaVale office and to continue providing comprehensive, patient-centered care,” said Becky White, regional director of cardiopulmonary and rehabilitation services. “Offering pulmonary function testing locally will allow our community to receive advanced testing without the need to travel far from home.”
