Berkeley Medical Center opens women’s, pregnancy and family care center in Martinsburg
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. – WVU Medicine Berkeley Medical Center and WVU Medicine Children’s have opened a new clinic in Martinsburg specializing in comprehensive healthcare for women and children.
The WVU Medicine Children’s Women’s, Pregnancy, and Family Care Center opened on Dec. 2 and offers full-service obstetric care and family-focused primary care services for women and children in one convenient location.
In recent years, family medicine obstetric (FMOB) clinics have become a popular option for women looking to simplify their family’s healthcare by having one provider who can offer primary care, obstetrics, and pediatrics services from one location.
In addition to being board certified in family medicine, FMOB providers undergo training to develop expertise in obstetrics, including prenatal care, labor and delivery, and postpartum care. This dual focus enables them to provide high-quality, seamless care for both mother and child.
Kelsey Ash, M.D., FMOB physician, said, the Women’s, Pregnancy and Family Care Center was developed to ensure all women and children in the Eastern Panhandle have access to advanced and ongoing healthcare.
“We’re excited to bring this new model of primary care to Berkeley County that allows us to establish long-term relationships with patients and offer a holistic approach to family medicine,” Dr. Ash said. “We aim to provide personalized, comprehensive care that supports women and their families through every stage of life.”
Ash is currently seeing patients at the Women’s, Pregnancy, and Family Care Center two days a week with plans to expand hours and providers in the future. She performs vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections for her patients at Berkeley Medical Center.
“WVU Medicine Children’s commitment to providing healthcare to the women of the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia continues with this important milestone,” Brian Casey, M.D., A.B.O.G.-M.F.M., chair, WVU Medicine Depart of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Services said. “As we continue to expand our services across our region to meet the needs of the growing community, we look forward to collaborating through our network of certified nurse midwives, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and physicians – and will work together to provide high-quality obstetric care to our patients.”
WVU Medicine Children’s Women’s Pregnancy, and Family Care Center, a department of Berkeley Medical Center, is located at 2010 Dr. Oates Drive, Suite 102 in Martinsburg. For more information, call 304-264-6343.
