MOB West sidewalk area and entrance closure

Starting Monday March 24, we will begin replacing the canopy and sidewalk outside of the MOB West entrance and near the outdoor elevator on the Division Street side of Thomas Memorial Hospital. This will temporarily close access to the following areas:

• The MOBW Main entrance (i.e. the sliding doors on the Division Street side of MOBW).
• The exit from the MOB West fire stairs to the grassy area near the old Cancer Center patio.
• The sidewalk that leads from Division Street to the MOB West main entrance.
• The sidewalk that leads from the bus stop on MacCorkle Ave. to the MOB West main entrance.
• The outdoor elevator (the elevator by the hospital that is accessed via the skywalk from the garage). Note: the skywalk from the garage will also be closed.
• The sidewalk outside of the CEO’s office (near the outdoor elevator).

Note: below are pictures of the canopy areas that will be closed as part of this project.

 
Personnel who need to access offices located in MOBW will need to enter the facility through the Thomas wing entrance or the Pavilion entrance.Please park on the side of the building that you plan to visit.
 
Individuals who would normally take the skywalk from the garage to the outdoor elevator by the hospital will have to walk across Division Street and take the stairs/ramps to the Thomas wing entrance. Individuals who park in the garage and have ambulation issues and/or who use ambulation assistance devices, wheelchairs, or motorized scooters are encouraged to take the shuttle between the garage and the Thomas wing entrance.
 
This project should be completed in early June.
