Wellness Rewards Program helps employees, eligible spouses achieve health goals
Wellness is a lifelong journey to improve your mental, physical, and social well-being, and the WVU Medicine Wellness Rewards Program is here to help. The program, which partners with Asset Health, helps employees and their covered spouses gain a better understanding of their health and achieve personal wellness goals.
All employees enrolled in a WVU Medicine medical plan and their covered spouses can take advantage of the resources on the Asset Health portal. The program runs from Monday, Jan. 15, 2024, through Monday, Sept. 30, 2024.
Earn points, pay less
Participation in the Wellness Rewards Program provides you with tools to take control of your health, while also giving you the opportunity to earn the 2025 wellness credit and reduce your per-pay medical plan premiums.
Employees and their covered spouse (if applicable) must separately log in to the portal to participate. Both the employee and covered spouse must each achieve the same Tier level by the Sept. 30 deadline to be eligible for that Tier. If not, the reward defaults to the lowest Tier achieved, including No Tier (Bronze).
Here are details on the Tier levels:
Tier 1 (Silver) – 1,000 points
Earn 1,000 points by completing the Tobacco Affidavit (500 points) and Health Assessment (500 points) by Sept. 30. If you and/or your covered spouse indicate tobacco use, you must enroll and complete six weekly telephonic coaching sessions or a six-session, self-guided electronic option to earn the 500 points. If you and/or your spouse are tobacco-free, no additional action is needed.
By completing Tier 1 (Silver) only, you will earn a partial wellness credit in 2025 on your medical plan premiums of $12.50/pay for employee with no spouse covered or $25/pay for employee plus a covered spouse.
Tier 2 (Gold) – 400 more points (1,400 total)
Earn 400 more points by completing additional wellness activities by Sept. 30, and earn the full wellness credit in 2025 on your medical plan premiums of $25/pay for employee with no spouse covered or $50/pay for employee plus a covered spouse.
* Employees of Local 814 at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital: You will be required to complete the same Tier levels as above. Please refer to your Collective Bargaining Agreement for 2025 incentives.
2024 new hires/enrollees with a medical plan effective date on or after Jan. 15, 2024
While you and your covered spouse (if applicable) will automatically earn the full wellness credit for 2024, you must separately log in to the Asset Health portal to participate in the Wellness Rewards Program and earn the 2025 wellness credit. Both you and your covered spouse must each complete the Health Assessment and Tobacco Affidavit (and tobacco cessation program, if applicable) by Sept. 30 to be eligible for Tier 2 (Gold). If not, the reward defaults to the lowest Tier achieved, including No Tier (Bronze).
* New hires of Local 814 at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital will pay the Bronze medical plan rate for 2024 in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement. However, you will have the opportunity to earn the 2025 wellness credit based upon completion of the Health Assessment and Tobacco Affidavit (and tobacco cessation program, if applicable) by you and your covered spouse by Sept. 30 to earn Tier 2 (Gold).
How to log in to the wellness portal
New to the portal?
To get started, employees and their covered spouse will need to log in separately to assethealth.com/wellnessrewards for the first time with the following default credentials:
- Username: first initial of first name + last name + date of birth (mmddyyyy)

- Password: date of birth (mmddyyyy)
Select the Tobacco Affidavit icon to start the program.
Returning to the portal?
Employees and their covered spouses can log in separately to assethealth.com/wellnessrewards with the credentials they have already established. If you cannot remember your username and/or password, click “Having Trouble Logging In” to retrieve your credentials.
New! Employees can now access the wellness portal directly using their Workday username and password! To access the wellness portal from Workday, please follow these instructions:
- Log in to Workday
- Click “Menu” on the left
- Select the “Helpful Links” icon
- On the “Helpful Links” page, scroll down to the Asset Health information and click on the link to be taken directly to the Asset Health site. You will then verify your login with a security token.
Covered spouses will need to log in to assethealth.com/wellnessrewards with the credentials they have already established.
