PCH Welcomes Back General Surgeon Dr. Ray Harron

WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital (PCH) is pleased to welcome back Ray Harron, D.O.to PCH, this time as a general surgeon. Dr. Harron will begin seeing patients at Mercer Medical Group General Surgery in Princeton on Aug. 9, joining Dr. David Mullins, Dr. Eric Hopkins and Dr. Gene Duremdes in that practice.

Dr. Harron spent a portion of his third and fourth years of medical school training with Drs. Hopkins, Mullins and Duremdes, shadowing them in their office and assisting in surgery at PCH as a medical student.

“I decided to come back largely due to my excellent experience with the surgeons as well as the overall atmosphere and ‘family’ dynamic at PCH,” Dr. Harron says. “I also grew up in Roanoke, Va., so being closer to home was also a draw to come back to the area.”

Dr. Harron earned a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg. He completed a general surgery residency at Western Reserve Hospital in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, serving as chief resident from 2023-2024.

His academic experience includes serving as a clinical instructor of surgery at Northeast Ohio Medical University and as a resident bootcamp instructor at Western Reserve Hospital.

Dr. Harron performs surgery of the abdomen, breast, minor/emergent chest procedures, trauma, and endoscopy.

Dr. Harron is currently accepting patients. To schedule an appointment, please call Mercer Medical Group General Surgery at 304-425-1852.
