PCH Earns National Accreditation for Nurse Education
Recognition conveys commitment to professional development in nursing
WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital (PCH) has earned accreditation for nursing continuing professional development from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). This recognition highlights PCH’s dedication to providing high-quality educational opportunities that support the professional growth of its nursing staff.
PCH is one of only five healthcare providers in West Virginia to achieve ANCC accreditation.
“Healthcare is constantly evolving, and it’s critical for hospitals like PCH to invest in keeping our nurses educated on the latest knowledge and best practices,” said Beverly White, MSN, RN, manager of nursing and clinical education.
“This accreditation places PCH among a network of organizations known for offering top-tier training for nurses, which directly improves the quality of care we provide to our patients.”
Accreditation from the ANCC enhances the hospital’s educational programs in several key ways:
- Promoting the highest professional standards to improve nursing practice
- Strengthening professional development programs with evidence-based education
- Increasing credibility by meeting rigorous, internationally recognized standards
- Expanding visibility through inclusion in a national directory of accredited organizations
- Enabling nurses to earn professional development contact hours needed for certifications and license renewals
The ANCC’s standards provide a structured, evidence-based framework for designing and delivering continuing education for nurses. This ensures that accredited organizations like PCH continually evaluate and improve their programs to support the ongoing professional development of their nursing staff, ultimately leading to better patient care.
WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital is leading healthcare in the two Virginias.
