WVU Medicine Camden Clark named one of America’s 250 Best Hospitals for clinical excellence in 2024 by leading healthcare resource Healthgrades
WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center has been named amongst America’s 250 Best Hospitals for 2024 by Healthgrades for the second consecutive year.
This achievement ranks Camden Clark Medical Center within the top five percent of hospitals nationwide for overall clinical performance across the most common procedures and conditions, which reflects Camden Clark’s commitment to exceptional care. WVU Medicine Camden Clark is the only hospital in the region to be ranked within America’s 250 Best Hospitals in 2023 and 2024.
“WVU Medicine Camden Clark has continued to focus on operational performance, a relentless focus on improvement, and seeking to be the best in the services we provide. Achieving this recognition for a second year in a row speaks to our dedication to excellence in all we do,” said Steve Altmiller, WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center President & CEO. “We are interested in what we do well and where we can improve. This circular process leads to results such as being among the best 250 hospitals in America. We are proud of our physicians and staff who strive daily to be the best.”
In addition to being named one of America’s 250 Best Hospitals, Camden Clark has recently received national excellence of care awards across major clinical areas from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, CareChex, the American Heart Association, the American College of Cardiology, U.S. News & World Report, among other Healthgrades national awards.
“Receiving this prestigious recognition, two years in a row, is such an honor and a tribute to the hard work, focus and dedication provided by our clinical and support teams,” said Cindy Kern, WVU Medicine Camden Clark Vice President of Quality and Patient Safety. “Our continuous quality improvement process provides a framework that fosters focus, learning and a tenacious attitude of being the best at what we do. We can’t thank our clinicians and support staff enough for all they do to take care of our patients and community.”
Healthgrades evaluated risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates for more than 30 conditions and procedures at approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide to identify the top-performing hospitals. Unlike other hospital studies, Healthgrades ratings are based solely on what matters most: patient outcomes. The 2024 Healthgrades analysis revealed significant variation in hospital performance, making it increasingly important to seek care at a top-rated program.
“Healthgrades commends WVU Medicine Camden Clark for its leadership and continued dedication to high quality care,” said Brad Bowman, MD, Chief Medical Officer and Head of Data Science at Healthgrades. “As one of America’s 250 Best Hospitals, Camden Clark is elevating the standard for quality care nationwide and ensuring superior outcomes for the patients in their community.”
