As part of the nationally recognized WVU Cancer Institute network, our regional cancer center expands access to high-quality oncology services for patients throughout our community, reducing the need for extensive travel during treatment.

Referrals
Patients seeking treatment or evaluation for hematology-related or oncology-related issues will need a referral form from their provider. Patients also need a referral form if they are transferring their chemotherapy or immunotherapy treatments to the WVU Cancer Institute at Potomac Valley Hospital.

Led by Dr. Kevin Shannon, a board-certified hematologist and oncologist, our experienced care team includes chemotherapy-certified nurses, skilled clinical staff, and dedicated support professionals who work together to deliver comprehensive, personalized care. We understand that a cancer diagnosis can feel overwhelming—for patients and their loved ones alike. To provide added guidance and reassurance, cancer navigation services are available to help patients move confidently through diagnosis, treatment, and beyond.
